Exodus 20:24
Amharic Tigrinya 2011
What Does This Mean?
God tells the people to build altars on earth to offer sacrifices, including burnt offerings and peace offerings. God promises to come to these places and bless the people where He has recorded His name.
Explained for Children
Imagine God saying, 'Build a special place outside where you can bring your animals to give to me. I'll meet you there and bless you, just like we're meeting for a playdate at your treehouse!'
Historical Background
Moses wrote this passage after the Exodus, around 1200 B.C., for the Israelites. God was establishing His covenant with them and instructing them on how to worship Him properly.
Living It Out Today
In today's context, this verse encourages us to create spaces in our homes or communities where we can worship God freely, like setting up a prayer corner or organizing a community service project to honor God's presence.
