Jésus lui répondit: « Je le suis, moi qui te parle. » Renvoyant dos à dos les Juifs et les Samaritains dans leur querelle sur la localisation du lieu de culte officiel, Jésus inaugure une ère nouvelle où le critère principal semble être celui de l'authenticité.
