Zechariah 5:8
Azerbajani (Azərbaycan Bibliyası 2008)
What Does This Mean?
In this verse, an angel is explaining a vision to Zechariah and points out that the woman inside a measuring basket represents wickedness. The angel then seals her in with a lead cover to keep her contained.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a big bucket for toys, but instead of toys, there's something really bad inside. An angel says it’s not good and puts a heavy lid on the bucket so that bad thing can't get out anymore. That's what this verse is about!
Historical Background
Zechariah was written by the prophet Zechariah around 520 BC, shortly after some Jews returned from exile in Babylon to rebuild Jerusalem. This vision aimed to inspire and guide them through their rebuilding efforts.
Living It Out Today
In today's world, this can remind us of our responsibility to identify and contain negative influences that might harm the community or ourselves. Just like sealing a bucket, we should actively prevent negativity from spreading.
