Explained for Children
Imagine you're playing a game where you think you're going to lose, but your best friend whispers to you, 'Don't worry, I've got this covered and you're going to win.' That's what God did for Gideon. He told Gideon not to worry because he was going to help Gideon win the battle.
Historical Background
The book of Judges was written by various authors and compiled by Samuel or another prophet, around 1000 BC. It was written for the Israelites to remind them of God's deliverance and the consequences of their sin.
Living It Out Today
Today, when you feel overwhelmed or see a difficult task ahead, remember that God can give you the victory. For example, if you're nervous about a big presentation at work, trust that God can help you succeed.
