كَذَلِكَ خَرَجَ الْكَمِينُ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ لِقَطْعِ طَرِيقِ الْهَرَبِ عَلَيْهِمْ. فَوَجَدَ أَهْلُ عَايَ أَنْفُسَهُمْ مَحْصُورِينَ بَيْنَ الإِسْرَائِيلِيِّينَ مِنَ الأَمَامِ وَمِنَ الْخَلْفِ، فَفَتَكَ بِهِمِ الإِسْرَائِيلِيُّونَ، فَلَمْ يَنْجُ مِنْهُمْ أَحَدٌ.
