إِنْ قُلْنَا لِنَدْخُلْ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ، فَالْجُوعُ فِيهَا، وَسَنَمُوتُ. وَإِنْ مَكَثْنَا هُنَا نَمُوتُ أَيْضاً. فَهَيَّا بِنَا نَلْجَأْ إِلَى مُعَسْكَرِ الآرَامِيِّينَ، فَإِنِ اسْتَحْيَوْنَا عِشْنَا، وَإِنْ قَتَلُونَا مُتْنَا».
