Luke 22:34
Arabic Bible ERV 2009
What Does This Mean?
This verse is Jesus talking to Peter, saying that before the rooster crows in the morning, Peter will deny knowing him three times. This shows how Jesus predicts Peter's future actions.
Explained for Children
Imagine you promised your best friend you'd always be there for them no matter what. But then something scary happens and you hide from them. That's kind of like what Jesus is saying might happen to his friend Peter, even though Peter says he won't do it.
Historical Background
Luke wrote this Gospel around 80-100 AD. He was writing for both Jewish and Gentile (non-Jewish) Christians. The cultural setting reflects the tension between Jewish religious practices and the emerging Christian faith.
Living It Out Today
In today's context, imagine a leader who faces a crisis and must decide whether to stand by their team or deny association with them. This verse reminds us of the importance of staying true to our commitments even under pressure.
