Hosea 6:10
Arabic Bible ERV 2009
What Does This Mean?
In Hosea 6:10, the prophet Hosea is speaking and pointing out a terrible thing he has observed in Israel. He mentions that Ephraim, one of the tribes of Israel, has been unfaithful, likening this behavior to adultery, which defiles or stains all of Israel.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a favorite toy that gets dirty because someone left it on the floor. Hosea is saying something similar about how Israel became dirty because one part of them did something wrong.
Historical Background
Hosea wrote this prophecy around the 8th century BC, addressing the northern kingdom of Israel before its fall to Assyria. The audience was a society deeply embedded in idol worship and moral decay.
Living It Out Today
In today's context, if you see your friend cheating on an exam, it not only affects their character but also tarnishes the reputation of your whole class. This verse reminds us that individual actions can impact the entire community.
