John 19:8
Arabic Bible AVDDV 1999 (الكتاب المقدس (تخفيف تشكيل))
What Does This Mean?
This verse is part of the account where Pilate learns that Jesus claims to be a king and this makes him even more afraid. Pilate was already worried about Jesus, but now he's even more scared.
Explained for Children
Imagine you're playing hide-and-seek with your friends, and you find out someone in the game is a superhero. You'd get really nervous because superheroes are powerful! That's how Pilate felt when he heard that Jesus might be a king—very afraid.
Historical Background
The Gospel of John was written by John, one of Jesus' disciples, around 90-100 AD. It was likely intended for both Jewish and Gentile Christians who were familiar with the events leading up to Jesus' crucifixion but needed a deeper understanding of their significance.
Living It Out Today
Sometimes we face situations where hearing or learning something new can make us more fearful, like when you learn that someone in your class is exceptionally skilled at karate. Just as Pilate felt more scared after learning about Jesus’ claim to be king, we might feel overwhelmed with new information that requires a different approach to how we handle our fears.
