John 14:23
Arabic Bible AVDDV 1999 (الكتاب المقدس (تخفيف تشكيل))
What Does This Mean?
In John 14:23, Jesus says that if someone loves Him, they will follow His teachings, and in return, both God the Father and Jesus Himself will come to live with them. This shows the deep personal relationship promised to those who love Christ.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a best friend who tells you how to play a game really well. If you love your friend and follow their rules for playing the game, they'll want to spend all their time playing with you too! Jesus says that if we love Him and do what He teaches us, He and God will come live inside our hearts.
Historical Background
The Gospel of John was written around 90-100 AD by the Apostle John, one of Jesus' closest disciples. It was aimed at early Christians in a predominantly Jewish context to strengthen their faith during difficult times. This passage comes from Jesus' last conversation with His disciples before His crucifixion.
Living It Out Today
Consider a young adult about to move out on their own for the first time. Knowing they love and respect their parents, these new flatmates promise to keep in touch by calling or visiting regularly. Following through shows their commitment and keeps that bond strong. Similarly, loving Jesus involves living according to His teachings which opens up a deep relationship with Him and God.
