John 10:1
Arabic Bible AVDDV 1999 (الكتاب المقدس (تخفيف تشكيل))
What Does This Mean?
In this verse from John's Gospel, Jesus is speaking and saying that anyone who doesn't enter the sheepfold through the proper door is not a true shepherd but a thief or a robber. This means only those who come in the right way can truly care for God’s people.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a special pen where your pets stay safe, and there's a specific gate to get in. If someone tries to sneak in another way without using that gate, they probably don't mean well and might be up to no good. Jesus is saying the same thing about how people should approach God’s family.
Historical Background
John wrote this Gospel around 90-100 AD for a Christian community facing challenges from both Jewish and Gentile backgrounds. The cultural setting was one where shepherding imagery would be familiar, symbolizing spiritual leadership and protection.
Living It Out Today
Today, if someone offers you shortcuts to success or promises quick fixes without going through the proper process, they might not have your best interests at heart. It's important to follow trusted paths when seeking guidance in life.
