وبَحَثَ عن أَحَزْيا فأَمسَكوه، وهو مُختَبِئٌ في السَّامِرَة، وجاؤُوا بِه إِلى ياهو، فقَتَلوه ودَفَنوه، لأَنَّهم قالوا: «إِنَّه ٱبنُ يوشافاطَ الَّذي ٱلتَمَسَ الرَّبَّ بِكُلِّ قَلبِه»، فلم يَبْقَ لِبَيتِ أَحَزْيا مَن يَقدِرُ أَن يَقبِضَ على زِمامِ المُلْك.
