Matthew 18:19
Amharic Bible (መጽሐፍ ቅዱስ (የብሉይና የሐዲስ ኪዳን መጻሕፍት))
What Does This Mean?
Jesus is speaking and says that when two people agree on something and ask for it, God will make it happen. This shows the power of agreement in prayer.
Explained for Children
Imagine you and your friend both really want to go to a fun park. If you both tell your parents at the same time and really mean it, there's a good chance they'll say yes! Jesus is saying that when we agree with someone else about something important and ask God for help, He listens too.
Historical Background
Matthew wrote this gospel likely around AD 80-90. The audience was primarily Jewish Christians living in a time of transition from the old covenant to the new covenant. Jesus speaks here during His teachings on church life and community.
Living It Out Today
If two coworkers agree that they need more training for a project and pray about it together, God can move people's hearts or circumstances to ensure they get the help they need.
