Luke 24:46
Amharic Tigrinya 2011
What Does This Mean?
Jesus is telling his disciples that the Old Testament prophesied He would suffer and die, but also rise from the dead on the third day. This was a necessary part of God's plan.
Explained for Children
Imagine you're playing hide-and-seek with your friends. You make a plan to hide in a special spot for three minutes before popping out. Jesus is like that — he knew when and where He'd 'hide' (die) and when He'd come back (rise from the dead).
Historical Background
The Gospel of Luke was written by Luke, a physician and disciple, around 60-85 AD. It's addressed to early Christians who needed assurance that Jesus fulfilled Old Testament prophecies. The setting reflects a time of transition for new believers.
Living It Out Today
Today, we can trust God’s plan even when it seems hard or scary, knowing He has a purpose and will fulfill His promises as seen in Jesus' suffering and resurrection.
