Luke 24:25
Amharic Tigrinya 2011
What Does This Mean?
In this verse, Jesus is speaking to two disciples who didn't recognize him after his resurrection. He calls them foolish and slow for not believing what the prophets had predicted about him.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a favorite storybook that tells about something amazing happening in your town. But when it actually happens, you don’t believe it because it’s so incredible. Jesus is telling two of his friends they didn’t believe their own stories about him coming back to life.
Historical Background
Luke wrote this Gospel around the year AD 80 for a gentile audience. The cultural context was one where Jewish beliefs and expectations clashed with the reality of Jesus' resurrection, which many found hard to accept.
Living It Out Today
Today, we might apply this verse when someone refuses to believe important information that could change their life for the better, like ignoring scientific advice or a doctor's diagnosis just because it sounds too unbelievable.
