1 Corinthians 4:5
Amharic Tigrinya 2011
What Does This Mean?
Paul is telling us not to judge others before the Lord comes and reveals everything about their hearts. He says that God will make all hidden things clear, so we should wait for His judgment.
Explained for Children
Imagine you're playing hide-and-seek with your friends. Sometimes it's hard to know where everyone is hiding until they come out. Paul is saying not to guess who the winner will be before the game ends because only God knows all of our secrets and why we do things.
Historical Background
The Apostle Paul wrote this in his letter to the Corinthians, around 53-54 AD. He was addressing issues within a church community dealing with divisions and misunderstandings. The audience was largely Gentile converts living in a Greco-Roman culture that valued human wisdom and judgment.
Living It Out Today
In today's world, it can be tempting to judge others based on first impressions or social media posts. This verse reminds us to withhold judgments about people’s motivations until we have all the facts, trusting that God will reveal everything in His time.
