Acts 10:22
Amharic (Tigrigna: Contemporary Tigrinya Bible 2024)
What Does This Mean?
This verse tells us that Cornelius, a Roman centurion known for his righteousness and respect among the Jews, was instructed by an angel to invite Peter to his house for guidance. The messengers are explaining this to Peter.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a friend who is very kind and listens carefully to their parents' advice. One day, your friend has a dream where they're told to ask you over to help them understand something important. This verse tells us that's what happened with Cornelius asking for Peter’s help.
Historical Background
The book of Acts was written by Luke around the middle of the first century AD. It documents early Christian missionary activities, including this encounter between a Gentile soldier and a Jewish apostle in a predominantly Jewish society.
Living It Out Today
Today, Cornelius's story can remind us to seek guidance from spiritual leaders when we feel led to do so. For example, if someone feels guided by their faith to talk to a pastor or mentor about their life path, they should follow through, just as Cornelius did.
