Job 32:19
Amharic New Standard Translation (አማርኛ አዲሱ መደበኛ ትርጉም) 2005
What Does This Mean?
In this verse, Elihu, one of Job's friends, says he feels like a bottle of wine that is about to burst because he has so much to say. He wants to speak up because he has important thoughts to share.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a big balloon, and you keep blowing into it. You feel like you're going to burst because you have so much air inside! Elihu feels the same way but with words he wants to say.
Historical Background
The Book of Job was written by an unknown author, possibly after the time of Moses. The story is set in the land of Uz and presents a dialogue between Job and his friends, including Elihu, who speak about Job's suffering and faith.
Living It Out Today
In today's world, we can relate this to feeling overwhelmed with thoughts or emotions that we need to express. For example, if you have an important idea at work or school, you might feel like Elihu—needing to share it before it overflows inside you.
