ዳዊት በኬብሮን ሳለ ብዙ የሠለጠኑ ወታደሮች ወደ እርሱ ሠራዊት ገቡ፤ እግዚአብሔር በሰጠውም የተስፋ ቃል መሠረት በሳኦል እግር ተተክቶ እንዲነግሥ ብዙ ርዳታ አደረጉለት፤ ቊጥራቸውም እንደሚከተለው ነበር፦ ከይሁዳ ነገድ፦ ጋሻና ጦር በሚገባ የታጠቁ ስድስት ሺህ ስምንት መቶ ወታደሮች፥ ከስምዖን ነገድ፦ በሚገባ የሠለጠኑ ሰባት ሺህ አንድ መቶ ወታደሮች፥ ከሌዊ ነገድ፦ አራት ሺህ ስድስት መቶ ሰዎች፤ የአሮን ዘሮች የሆኑት የዮዳሄ ተከታዮች ሦስት ሺህ ሰባት መቶ ሰዎች፥ ታዋቂ ጦረኛ ከሆነው ከጻዶቅ ዘመዶች፦ ኻያ ሁለት የጦር አዛዦች፥ የሳኦል ወገን ከሆነው ከብንያም ነገድ፦ ሦስት ሺህ ሰዎች፤ ይሁን እንጂ ከብንያም ነገድ አብዛኛው ሕዝብ ለሳኦል ያላቸውን ታማኝነት እንደ ቀጠሉ ነበሩ። ከኤፍሬም ነገድ፦ ኻያ ሺህ ስምንት መቶ ሰዎች ሲሆኑ፥ ሁሉም በየጐሣቸው ዝነኞች የሆኑ ጀግኖች ነበሩ። በምዕራብ በኩል ካለው ከምናሴ ነገድ፦ ዐሥራ ስምንት ሺህ ሰዎች ሲሆኑ፥ እነርሱም ዳዊትን ለማንገሥ በተለይ የተመረጡ ናቸው። ከይሳኮር ነገድ፦ ሁለት መቶ መሪዎች ሲሆኑ፥ በእነርሱ አመራር ሥር ያሉትንም ያጠቃልላል፤ እነዚህ መሪዎች እስራኤል ምን ማድረግና መቼ ማድረግ እንደሚገባት የሚያውቁ ናቸው። ከዛብሎን ነገድ፦ እምነት የሚጣልባቸው ለጦርነት ዝግጁዎች የሆኑ በማንኛውም መሣሪያ መጠቀም የሚችሉ ኀምሳ ሺህ ወታደሮች፤ ከንፍታሌም ነገድ፦ አንድ ሺህ የጦር መሪዎችና ጋሻና ጦር ያነገቡ ሠላሳ ሰባት ሺህ ወታደሮች ነበሩ። ከዳን ነገድ፦ ኻያ ስምንት ሺህ ስድስት መቶ የሠለጠኑ ወታደሮች ነበሩ። ከአሴር ነገድ፦ አርባ ሺህ ለጦርነት የተዘጋጁ ወታደሮች ነበሩ። ከዮርዳኖስ በስተ ምሥራቅ ካሉት ከሮቤል፥ ከጋድና ከምናሴ ነገዶች፦ በማንኛውም ዐይነት መሣሪያ የመጠቀም ችሎታ ያላቸው አንድ መቶ ኻያ ሺህ ወታደሮች ነበሩ።
