Acts 6:12
Amharic Catholic Version (መጽሐፍ ቅዱስ - (ካቶሊካዊ እትም - ኤማሁስ)) No Year
What Does This Mean?
This verse describes a group of people who caused trouble for a man by inciting others, including elders and scribes, to arrest him and bring him before the council for trial.
Explained for Children
Imagine some kids in your class got upset with one kid and told all their friends and teachers to catch that kid and take them to the principal's office. That’s kind of what happened here, but with grown-ups and a special court called a council.
Historical Background
Acts was written by Luke around AD 80-90 for Gentile Christians. It chronicles the early Christian church's growth after Jesus' ascension. This event took place in Jerusalem where Jewish leaders were suspicious of new religious movements like Christianity.
Living It Out Today
This can be seen as a warning about mob mentality and false accusations, much like what might happen if rumors spread around school causing students to unfairly isolate or punish another student without hearing their side first.
