Joshua 22:7
Amharic 2000 (የአማርኛ መጽሐፍ ቅዱስ (ሰማንያ አሃዱ))
What Does This Mean?
This verse talks about how Moses gave land to half of the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, while Joshua gave land to the other half among their brothers on the west side of the Jordan River. Joshua then sent them back to their homes and blessed them.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a big box of toys. Moses gave half of the toys to some kids to play with in one room, and Joshua gave the other half to play with in another room with their friends. After they played, Joshua said a nice goodbye and told them to go home.
Historical Background
Joshua 22:7 was written by Joshua, a leader of the Israelites, around 1300 BCE. It was written to remind the Israelites about the division of land among the tribes and the blessings given by Joshua. The cultural setting was one of the tribes settling into their promised lands.
Living It Out Today
Today, if you are part of a team or community that is divided, remember that each part still belongs to the same whole. Just as the Manasseh tribe was blessed, your contributions, whether in the front or the back, are valuable and blessed.
