2 Corinthians 8:7
Amharic 2000 (የአማርኛ መጽሐፍ ቅዱስ (ሰማንያ አሃዱ))
What Does This Mean?
In this verse, Paul is encouraging the Corinthians to also excel in giving generously, as they have excelled in other aspects of their faith and love for others. He reminds them that just like they are abundant in their faith, knowledge, diligence, and love towards him, they should be equally generous.
Explained for Children
Imagine you're really good at sharing your toys with friends. Paul is saying to the Corinthians, 'You're great at being kind and helping others. Now, why don't you also share lots of things like you do when you play?'
Historical Background
This verse comes from a letter written by the apostle Paul around AD 56-57. He wrote this to the church in Corinth encouraging them about their willingness to give generously towards helping other believers. The Corinthians were known for their abundant faith and love, but Paul wanted to extend that abundance into generosity.
Living It Out Today
Today, if you're someone who excels at work or in school, think about how you can also be generous with your time or resources. For example, volunteering at a local shelter shows the same kind of excellence as your other accomplishments.
