Gaan sê vir die volk die Here, die God van Esegiël, sê vir hulle die volgende oor wat die toekoms inhou vir Israel en vir die mense wat in Jerusalem bly: Hulle sal bewe terwyl hulle hulle kos eet, so bang sal hulle wees. En hulle sal klein slukkies water drink terwyl hulle wanhopig rondsoek omdat daar nie meer kos en water in hulle land oor sal wees nie. Ek sal hulle land stroop sodat daar geen kos of water sal wees nie. En Ek doen dit omdat hulle so sleg en vol geweld is.
