Isaiah 65:12
Afrikaans Bible (ABA) 2007 (Bybel vir almal)
What Does This Mean?
In this verse, God is speaking and tells the people that because they ignored Him and chose to do things He didn't like, He will make them suffer. He will let them face a lot of trouble and danger because they didn't listen when He called or spoke to them.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a friend who always ignores you when you try to play with them. One day, your friend gets into trouble because they were not paying attention. This verse is like that, but it's God talking to people who didn't listen to Him when He tried to talk to them.
Historical Background
Isaiah wrote this verse around 700 BC. He was speaking to the people of Israel, warning them of God's judgment because they had turned away from Him and chosen to do evil instead of following His ways.
Living It Out Today
Today, this verse can remind us of the importance of staying connected with God. For example, if we ignore God's guidance and choose to live our lives based on our own desires, we might end up facing difficulties that could have been avoided if we had listened to Him.
