Mark 14:62
Armenian Eastern Bible 1994
What Does This Mean?
In this verse from Mark's Gospel, Jesus is speaking to the high priest and says that he is the Messiah. He also predicts that people will see him seated at God's right hand and coming with power in the future.
Explained for Children
Imagine if a superhero said they were really the hero everyone was waiting for and promised one day you'd see them flying back to save the world. That's what Jesus is saying here, but instead of a flying superhero, he talks about sitting next to God and coming on clouds.
Historical Background
The Gospel of Mark was written in the mid-1st century by John Mark, an early Christian leader. This passage comes during Jesus' trial before the high priest. The Jewish audience would have understood this as a claim to be the Messiah predicted in their scriptures.
Living It Out Today
Today, when faced with difficult decisions or doubts about leadership, we can remember Jesus' words. Just like a company's CEO might reassure employees of future growth, Christians believe Jesus’ promise gives hope and direction for life’s challenges.
