Luke 2:31
Baoule Bible 1996 (Kuo :Dele')
What Does This Mean?
This verse is part of Simeon's prophecy in the Temple when Jesus was presented as a baby. He says that God has prepared something for all people to see, which refers to the revelation of Christ. It speaks about the universal impact and accessibility of this event.
Explained for Children
Imagine you're showing your favorite toy to everyone at school. Just like how you share it with everybody, Simeon is saying that Jesus was meant to be shared with everyone in the world so they could see God's plan for them.
Historical Background
Luke wrote this Gospel around 60-80 AD, directed primarily towards Gentile converts and possibly also Jews who were considering Christianity. The cultural setting includes a mix of Jewish religious practices and early Christian beliefs spreading throughout the Roman Empire.
Living It Out Today
Just as Jesus was revealed to all people in Simeon's time, we can think about how our actions or words today might reveal God’s message to others around us, especially those who may not know much about Christianity.
