Explained for Children
Imagine you're in a big room full of your friends, and there's someone really important at the front. Everyone gets excited and bows down to show how much they respect this person. They say 'Amen' and 'Hallelujah', which is like saying 'Yes! That's right!' and 'Praise God!', because they're so happy.
Historical Background
This verse was written by John, one of Jesus' disciples, around the end of the first century AD. He wrote it while in exile on Patmos to encourage Christians enduring persecution under Roman rule. The imagery reflects ancient Near Eastern and Jewish apocalyptic literature.
