Joshua 22:20
Bashkir 2023 (Изге Яҙма)
What Does This Mean?
Joshua is speaking to the tribes of Reuben and Gad, reminding them of the story of Achan, who took from the accursed things at Jericho, causing God's wrath to fall on the whole camp. Joshua warns them that one person's sin can affect the whole community.
Explained for Children
Imagine if one kid in your class brought a forbidden toy to school, and because of that, the whole class got punished. Joshua is telling the tribes that one person's mistake can make everyone suffer, just like Achan did with the gold from Jericho.
Historical Background
Joshua 22 is part of the Book of Joshua, written by Joshua, the leader of the Israelites after Moses. This book details the conquest and division of Canaan. Joshua is addressing the tribes of Reuben and Gad, who have already received their inheritance on the east side of the Jordan.
