2 Kings 19:28
Bashkir 2023 (Изге Яҙма)
What Does This Mean?
In this verse, God is speaking to the Assyrian king and is telling him that because of his anger and his boasting, God will control him just as a person controls an animal with a nose ring and a bridle. God will make the king return by the same path he came from.
Explained for Children
Imagine if you got so mad that you started yelling and making a lot of noise. God is like a parent who tells you, 'I hear you, and I'm going to make you calm down and go back home.' He's saying that He will control the Assyrian king just like you might control a horse with a bridle.
Historical Background
This verse is from the Book of 2 Kings, written by the prophets to record the history of the kings of Israel and Judah. It was written around the 6th century BCE and reflects a time when the Assyrians were a powerful threat to the kingdom of Judah.
Living It Out Today
In a modern scenario, this verse can be applied to a situation where someone is angry and causing trouble. Just as God promises to control the Assyrian king, we can trust that God will deal with those who cause mischief and restore peace.
