Luke 10:2
Azerbajani (Azərbaycan Bibliyası 2008)
What Does This Mean?
In Luke 10:2, Jesus tells his disciples that there are many people who need to hear about God (the harvest is great), but not enough people are working to share the message (there aren't enough laborers). He asks them to pray for more workers to help in this important task.
Explained for Children
Imagine you're picking apples from a big tree. There's lots of fruit, but only a few people to pick it. Jesus is saying there are lots of people who need to hear about God, but not enough helpers to share the news. He wants us to ask for more helpers!
Historical Background
This verse comes from Luke’s Gospel, written around 80-100 AD. Luke was a Greek physician and one of Paul's companions. He wrote his gospel for Gentile (non-Jewish) Christians, emphasizing Jesus as the savior of all people.
Living It Out Today
Today, imagine you're part of a team organizing a community event to help local families in need. There are many families who could benefit from your help, but your team is small. You realize you need more volunteers to make this happen and decide to ask others to join your effort.
