Acts 2:36
Aymara Bible 1986 (Aymar Bibliia 1986)
What Does This Mean?
This verse is Peter speaking to the people of Israel after Jesus' resurrection and ascension. He tells them that God has made Jesus, whom they crucified, both Lord and Christ. This means Jesus now holds all power and authority.
Explained for Children
Imagine you had a friend who everyone thought was just a normal person. But then, one day, your parents tell you this friend is actually the king of a big kingdom! That's kind of what Peter is saying about Jesus here—he’s telling people that God made their friend Jesus very important and powerful.
Historical Background
The verse comes from Acts chapter 2, written by Luke around 60-80 AD. The audience was primarily Jewish people in Jerusalem who had witnessed the crucifixion of Jesus. This speech took place during Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was given to believers.
Living It Out Today
In modern times, this verse can remind us that despite our past actions or mistakes, God has the power to elevate and give purpose to anyone. For example, someone who feels they have made significant errors in life should remember that God’s grace extends beyond human judgment.
