2 Corinthians 7:10
Assamese - 2019 (ইণ্ডিয়ান ৰিভাইচ ভাৰচন (IRV) আচামিচ - 2019)
What Does This Mean?
This verse from the Bible teaches that when someone feels deeply sorry because of sin, it leads to true repentance and salvation. But feeling sad just for worldly reasons doesn't lead to anything good; instead, it can bring death. The message is about the difference between sincere sorrow and ordinary sadness.
Explained for Children
Imagine you're really upset because you did something wrong. That kind of sadness makes you want to change and be better. But if you're sad just because life is hard sometimes, that doesn't help much and can make things worse. God wants us to feel the first kind of sorrow so we can grow.
Historical Background
This verse was written by Paul in a letter to the church at Corinth around 53-56 AD. The audience were mostly Gentiles (non-Jews) who had recently converted to Christianity. At that time, there were many challenges and misunderstandings about the new faith.
Living It Out Today
Imagine someone feels guilty after cheating on a test. They feel deeply sorry for their actions and decide never to do it again, leading them towards better choices in life. This kind of sorrow leads to repentance and growth, unlike feeling sad just because they got caught.
