وَكَانَ الشَّعْبُ يَطُوفُونَ لِيَجْمَعُوهُ ثُمَّ يَطْحَنُونَهُ بِالرَّحَى أَوْ يَدُقُّونَهُ فِي الْهَاوَنِ وَيَطْبُخُونَهُ فِي الْقُدُورِ أَوْ يَخْبِزُونَهُ عَلَى حِجَارَةٍ مُحْمَاةٍ. وَكَانَ طَعْمُهُ كَطَعْمِ قَطَائِفَ بِزَيْتٍ.
