وَتَسَاءَلَ أَمَامَ أَقْرِبَائِهِ وَجَيْشِ السَّامِرَةِ: «أَيُّ شَيْءٍ يَفْعَلُهُ هَؤُلاَءِ الْيَهُودُ الضُّعَفَاءُ؟ هَلْ فِي وُسْعِهِمْ أَنْ يُعِيدُوا بِنَاءَ السُّورِ؟ هَلْ يَعُودُونَ لِتَقْرِيبِ الذَّبَائِحِ؟ هَلْ يُكْمِلُونَ الْبِنَاءَ فِي يَوْمٍ وَاحِدٍ؟ هَلْ يُحْيُونَ الْحِجَارَةَ مِنْ أَكْوَامِ الرُّكَامِ وَهِيَ مُحْتَرِقَةٌ؟»
