«أَوْصِ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ وَقُلْ لَهُمْ: يَكُونُ لَكُمُ الْيَوْمُ الأَوَّلُ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ السَّابِعِ (أَيْ شَهْرِ أَيْلُولَ - سَبْتَمْبَرَ) يَوْمَ عُطْلَةٍ فِيهِ تَحْتَفِلُونَ احْتِفَالاً مُقَدَّساً، تَنْفُخُونَ فِيهِ بِالأَبْوَاقِ.
