فَقَالَ يَهُوذَا لِثَامَارَ كَنَّتِهِ: «امْكُثِي أَرْمَلَةً فِي بَيْتِ أَبِيكِ رَيْثَمَا يَكْبُرُ شِيلَةُ ابْنِي». لأَنَّهُ قَالَ: «لِئَلاَّ يَمُوتَ شِيلَةُ أَيْضاً كَمَا مَاتَ أَخَوَاهُ». فَمَضَتْ ثَامَارُ وَمَكَثَتْ فِي بَيْتِ أَبِيهَا.
