Revelation 2:23
Arabic Bible (Tunisian) (Tunisian Arabic Version) 2018
What Does This Mean?
In this verse, Jesus is speaking and saying that He will punish a woman named Jezebel for her wicked deeds by killing her children. He also promises to reveal people's true intentions to everyone in the churches and judge them based on their works.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a friend who keeps lying about things. One day, your teacher finds out all these lies and decides to show everyone that they know what’s really going on inside of everyone. This verse is like that, but much more serious. Jesus is saying He knows everything and will make sure people get what they deserve.
Historical Background
The Book of Revelation was written by John around the end of the first century AD to encourage Christians facing persecution in Asia Minor. The letter addresses seven churches and warns them about false teachings, emphasizing that God judges according to one’s deeds.
Living It Out Today
Consider a scenario where someone at work spreads rumors or lies about you. This verse reminds us that although it might seem like their actions go unnoticed, ultimately, the truth will come out, and there are consequences for our words and actions.
