What Does This Mean?
In this verse, Balaam is telling Balak to go back to his place because he thought he would be rewarded with great honor for cursing the Israelites, but God prevented him from doing so. This shows that God's will cannot be thwarted and that honor comes from Him, not from human efforts.

Imagine you're playing a game and you think you're going to win a big prize, but the game's rules say you can't. Balaam thought he would get a big reward for doing something bad, but God said no. God decides who gets honors, not us.
Historical Background

When we think we're going to get something good, like a promotion or a prize, but it doesn't happen, it might be because God has something better planned. We should trust that God knows what's best and will honor us in His time.
