Matthew 10:13
Arabic SAB (الكتاب الشريف)
What Does This Mean?
In Matthew 10:13, Jesus is instructing his disciples on what to do when they enter a house. If the people in the house are receptive and worthy of God's peace, then let that peace stay with them. But if they reject it, the peace should return to the disciples.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a special gift of happiness you want to share. Jesus tells his friends to give this gift when they visit someone’s home. If the people in the house like and accept the gift, let it stay there making them happy. But if they don’t want it, bring the happiness back with you.
Historical Background
This verse is part of Matthew's gospel, written around AD 80-90 for a Jewish-Christian audience living under Roman rule. Jesus was instructing his disciples on how to approach people during their missionary journeys, reflecting a time when hospitality and acceptance were crucial for travelers.
Living It Out Today
Today, imagine you're visiting someone’s home or workplace with an idea that could benefit them. If they are open and willing to accept your proposal, share it fully. But if they reject it, know that the value of what you have remains intact and can be used elsewhere.
