فَلَمَّا بَدَأَتْ مِصْرُ تُحِسُّ بِالْمَجَاعَةِ، صَرَخَ الشَّعْبُ إِلَى فِرْعَوْنَ طَالِبًا طَعَامًا، فَقَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ لِكُلِّ الْمِصْرِيِّينَ: ”اِذْهَبُوا إِلَى يُوسِفَ، وَاعْمَلُوا كَمَا يَقُولُ لَكُمْ.“
