Isaiah 6:10
Arabic Simplified (الكِتاب المُقَدَّس: التَّرْجَمَةُ العَرَبِيَّةُ المُبَسَّطَةُ)
What Does This Mean?
In this verse, God is speaking to Isaiah and tells him to make the people's hearts dull, their ears heavy, and their eyes closed so they won't understand and turn to him. This is a warning that not everyone will respond to God's message.
Explained for Children
Imagine if you had a friend who loved candy but kept saying they didn't like it. No matter how much you told them it was yummy, they wouldn't try it. God is saying that some people won't listen no matter how much He tries to speak to them.
Historical Background
Isaiah, a prophet, wrote this around 700 BC. He was speaking to the people of Judah, who were ignoring God's commands. The context was a time of spiritual decline and idol worship.
Living It Out Today
A modern scenario could be a person who constantly ignores advice from loved ones or ignores the signs that they are on a harmful path. Just as God's message was not understood by the people, sometimes today, our messages of help can also go unheard.
