فَلَمَّا رَأى يُوسُفُ إخْوَتَهُ، عَرَفَهُمْ، لَكِنَّهُ تَظَاهَرَ بِأنَّهُ لَمْ يَعْرِفْهُمْ. وَتَكَلَّمَ مَعْهُمْ بِفَظَاظَةٍ وَقَالَ لَهُمْ: «مِنْ أيْنَ جِئْتُمْ؟» فَقَالُوا: «جِئْنَا مِنْ أرْضِ كَنْعَانَ لِنَشْتَرِيَ طَعَامًا.»
