فسألَ المَلِكُ: «هلِ الشَّابُ أبْشَالُومُ بِخَيرٍ؟» أجَابَ أخِيمَعَصُ: «رَأيْتُ الحَشْدَ الكَبِيرَ مِنْ حَوْلِنَا، عِنْدَمَا دَعَاني يُوآبُ لِيُرسِلَني، أنَا عَبْدَكَ، لَكِنَّنِي لَا أعْرِفُ مَا كَانَ هَذَا الأمْرَ.»
