وَكَانَ رِجَالُ بَنْهَدَدَ يَنْتَظِرُونَ كَلِمَةً يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِهَا. فَلَمَّا دَعَاهُ أخآبُ أخًا لَهُ، أيَّدُوهُ فَوْرًا وَقَالُوا: «نَعَمْ! إنَّ بَنْهَدَدَ أخٌ لَكَ.» فَقَالَ أخآبُ: «أحضِرُوهُ لِي.» فَجَاءَ بَنْهَدَدُ إلَى أخآبَ. فَطَلَبَ مِنْهُ أخآبُ أنْ يَرْكَبَ المَرْكَبَةَ مَعَهُ.
