فَشَقَّ الأبطَالُ الثَّلَاثَةُ طريقَهُمْ عَبْرَ صُفوفِ الجَيْشِ الفِلِسْطيِّ، وَنَشَلُوا بَعْضَ المَاءِ مِنَ البِئْرِ الَّتِي بِالقُرْبِ مِنْ بوَّابةِ بَيْتِ لَحْمٍ، وَجَاءُوا بِهِ إلَى دَاوُدَ. فَرَفَضَ أنْ يَشْرَبَ مِنْهُ، بَلْ سَكبَهُ تَقْدِمَةً للهِ.
