Arabic Bible (GNA) Good News Arabic - 1993 (الترجمة العربية المشتركة)
What Does This Mean?
In this verse, Jesus is telling his disciples that soon he will no longer be seen by the world, but they will see him and because he lives, they too shall live eternally. This promise reassures them of their future life with him.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a best friend who has to go away for a while, but promises that even though others can't see them, you will always be able to see and play with them. That's what Jesus is telling his friends: he'll be gone from the world, but they'll still see him, and because he lives forever, they can live forever too.
Historical Background
John 14 was written by John, one of Jesus' disciples, likely around 90-100 AD. It's part of his Gospel where he records teachings from the last days before Jesus' crucifixion. The context is Jesus preparing his followers for his departure and assuring them about their future.
Living It Out Today
In a modern scenario, this verse can be applied to someone facing loss or grief over the death of a loved one. It reminds us that while we may not see our loved ones in this life, we have hope in eternal life with Jesus.
