أجابوا: «أرسَلَنا الضّابِطُ كُورنيليوسُ، وهوَ رَجُلٌ صالِـحٌ يَخافُ اللهَ ويَشهَدُ على فَضلِهِ جميعُ اليَهودِ، لأنّ مَلاكًا طاهِرًا أبلَغَهُ أنْ يَجيءَ بِكَ إلى بَيتِهِ ليَسمَعَ ما عِندَك مِنْ كلامٍ».
