لِأنَّ كَثِيرِينَ فِي يَهُوذا كانُوا فِي عَهْدِ مُوالاةٍ لَهُ، لِأنَّهُ كانَ صِهْرَ شَكَنْيا بْنِ آرَحَ، وَتَزَوَّجَ ابْنُهُ يُهُوحانانُ بِنتَ مَشُلّامَ بنِ بَرَخْيا.
