Joshua 3:7
Arabic Bible ERV 2009
What Does This Mean?
In this verse, God tells Joshua that on this day, He will make Joshua appear great in the eyes of all the Israelites. This is to show them that just as God was with Moses, He will also be with Joshua.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a big game coming up and your coach tells you that they will show everyone how great you can be, just like they did with your older sister. That's what God is telling Joshua here. He wants everyone to see that He will help Joshua just as He helped Moses.
Historical Background
This passage is from the Book of Joshua, which was written by Joshua, the successor to Moses. It was written around 1350-1200 BCE for the Israelites, shortly after their entry into the Promised Land. The cultural setting reflects the transition of leadership and the need for reassurance in new challenges.
Living It Out Today
In today's context, this verse can be applied to a new team leader who needs to establish trust and credibility among team members. Just as God promised to be with Joshua, a leader can find strength and support from within or from a higher power to lead effectively.
