Job 17:2
Arabic Bible ERV 2009
What Does This Mean?
Job is speaking and he is saying that there are people who make fun of him, and he cannot help but notice and feel hurt by their actions. He is expressing his frustration and pain at being mocked.
Explained for Children
Imagine if some kids at school were always making fun of you, and you couldn't stop thinking about it. That's how Job feels. He's sad and upset because the people around him are not being nice.
Historical Background
Job is a book in the Old Testament, written around 2000 years before Christ, possibly by Moses. It tells the story of a righteous man who faces extreme suffering and questions why he is being punished. The verse reflects the context of Job's despair and the harsh treatment from others during his trials.
Living It Out Today
In modern times, we might think of a person going through a tough time, like a serious illness, and feeling mocked or misunderstood by friends or colleagues. This verse reminds us to be supportive and not to mock those in pain.
